Obi Okere and Joy Adaeze Okere

 

 

Obi and Joy are married and live in Harlem.  In 2014, they founded Curl Sistas Hair Extensions and co-authored,The CurlSistas Guide to DIY Natural Hair Products: Recipes for All-Natural Homemade Shampoos, Conditioners, & Moisturizers, available on sale on CurlSistas.com and Amazon.com.

 

Aside from being a hair stylist, Joy Adaeze Okere has worked as a style blogger and fashion stylist for the last six years. She started her blog, JoyLovesFashion.com in 2009 and has styled shoots for Cover Girl, InStyle, ESSENCE, Good Morning America, NBC, and many others. In 2014, she was honored by Black Women In Media in 2014 for her work in blogging.  Joy has been featured in The New York Times, Black Enterprise, Elle, Marie Claire, Seventeen, Vogue Italia, and New York Magazine. She received her bachelors degree from Rutgers University.

 

Obi Okere’s background is in business development and coaching.  He is a certified career coach who helps career professionals clarify their career path, land their dream job, and boost their performance. To date, Obi has coached and trained over 2000 people through one-on-one sessions, live workshops, and seminars.  He is the author book, "From Job Interview to Job Offer:  A Quick Guide to Interviewing Success" available for sale on Amazon.com. He has conducted career management presentations for organizations and institutions such as New York University, Deutsche Bank, The National Urban League, The National Black MBA Association, Rutgers University, and Fordham University. Obi Okere is a certified coach through the Columbia Business School’s Coach Certification Program.  He is also a Master's Degree candidate at Columbia University in Organizational Leadership and Adult Learning.
